A new quality standard for PET producers and buyers

A paradigm shift

The global demand for recycled PET is steadily increasing, driven by the need to reduce dependence on fossil resources, meet sustainability goals, and comply with increasingly stringent European regulations. In this context, stakeholders in the PET supply chain—resin producers, converters, brands, and packaging industry operators—are called upon to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality, traceable secondary raw materials that meet technical and environmental requirements. Thanks to PETER, chemical recycling of PET now opens new prospects for reliable and circular sourcing.

PETER is a proprietary technology for the chemical recycling of polyester, available under a full licensing model with technical support and engineering packages. It enables the depolymerization of textile waste and packaging containing PET, producing purified monomers (such as DMT) compatible with existing polymerization processes. The result is a material indistinguishable in quality and performance from virgin PET but with a significantly lower environmental impact.

This represents a paradigm shift.

Virgin-like PET

Thanks to the chemical purity of the regenerated product, recycled feedstock can be integrated into production processes without compromising quality, paving the way for new applications in food contact, textiles, bottling, and film. Moreover, material traceability and process transparency ensure compliance with European regulations, including standards required for recycled plastics and minimum recycled content targets.

Our plants can produce monomers or be integrated into existing facilities. The modular and scalable approach of PETER plants enables flexible production close to waste sources and industrial hubs, reducing logistics costs and carbon footprint.

Investing in chemical recycling allows companies to differentiate themselves in the market by concretely responding to the demands of end consumers and stakeholders regarding sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility. In a context where circularity is becoming a competitive driver, chemical recycling represents a strategic lever to build more resilient, transparent supply chains aligned with ESG objectives.
